Dress Adventures, Volume Three

AuthorPosted by Kassi Post Time11:34 pm

So I’ve been through two stores, eleven dresses, and countless websites in my search for my dream dress. I know I left you hanging last post, so at long last, I’ll tell you the story of the day that dress became my dress.

I made an appointment with the first salon I visited a few months earlier. I was pleased to find that when I had an appointment, the service was wonderful and my consultant was a total sweetheart. I showed her a picture of the dress I was looking for and she went searching. She brought a few over that she thought might be the dress I was looking for. Third in the stack was my dress!! I headed into the dressing room and stepped into it.

Not for you, Mr. Mogwai

As the consultant was zipping the dress up, I took a deep breath before looking at myself in the mirror. It’s true, that when you find the perfect dress, you feel it. It makes the whole hunt worth it.

Okay, I know, you want to know which it was. Without further ado…

Did you recognize dress number two?? Yes, I really bought the second dress I ever tried on. It just took me nine more dresses to figure it out!!

There were a few things that really sold me on this dress.

First, this dress cannot be ordered from the designer. Only one was made and I was lucky enough that the sample fit me almost perfectly! I wouldn’t need to spend much on alterations so I decided to splurge on the dress itself.

Second, the consultant told me the since I would be buying the sample, she could give me 20% off the dress. That dropped the $1295 price tag down to $1040, which they rounded down to $1000 (before tax). My daddy taught me to appreciate a good bargain!

Third, since I have so much time left before the wedding, the salon is allowing me to make payments on the dress on my own schedule. When I have extra money, I pay them what I can to make up for a missed month when money is tight. The salon has been so great and really worked with me to make sure the dress that I wear down the aisle is one that I really love.

Did you go back for a dress you had previously tried on? Am I the only one who couldn’t pull the trigger after only two dresses?
